On the road again
After visiting Griselda's mom and Nana and friends for a few weeks, we are about to travel across the country (AGAIN) :D We are heading to our winter workamping position in Florida. But first, we will also visit with some friends on the way if possible, but definitely when we arrive in Florida.
The plan is to travel about 300 miles a day and make it in a week, without burning ourselves out from travel. That is something we have learned in the year of full-time travel (not to take it too fast or drive too long on travel days). It makes Griselda exhausted (because she likes to do the driving) & a bit grumpy lol bc she then does other stuff she likes to do herself (feed the dogs etc). So we try to arrive before dark so we can scope the area out and make sure it's going to meet our needs and be secure for a night's stay.
Griselda likes to do most of the planning of where we stop and stay unless I insist on a place. We use I Overlander mostly for stays, but also other apps. Let us know if there are apps YOU use, we may not have yet :D We mostly boondock or lot dock (Chelle prefers boondocking near water and great sunsets/sunrises, while Griselda prefers to lot dock with other campers).
We are going to TRY (it's SO HARD to do it all) to vlog about the travel across the country and include some information our followers have requested. Is there anything, in particular, YOU are curious about, or would want us to share about?
We have truly enjoyed visiting California, especially with mom and Nana, and being mostly stationary for a few weeks. We have enjoyed great food and company with lots of laughter and tears. We have completed a few projects on the bus, which I wish we had documented better in videos, oops. While we are here, we are going to get a tire rotation (the last time we got one was a year ago) and an oil change. When we purchased the bus it was at 185k in mileage and now at 211k, so we have done a good bit of driving in a year, (across the country twice). And excited to do it again, onto a new journey :D We have really enjoyed workamping, even if we needed to leave our former position early due to some personal issues. We are excited that this next one is only a month-long, although will be lots of long hours and lots of work in that month. Due to leaving the other position early, our finances are not where they need to be or where we want them to be. We honestly, basically have gas money to GET to Florida at this point, and not the best way to be full-time travelers (just being honest). While we run several businesses on the road, we haven't been great at doing that due to just enjoying traveling, but now it is time to get back to work lol. I'm just being transparent as possible. I will do another post about finances in the near future :D Don't forget to ask us anything because we are pretty much an open book!
Our goal in this is to let everyone know they CAN live this life. It ISN'T all rainbow, glitter & sunshine ALL the time! You DON'T have to be a professional at ANYTHING to love this life and live it to the fullest!
Have a great day! <3
